Necessary Documentation

When importing a car to South Africa as a returning South African resident or as a first time immigrant, certain rules and regulations apply and certain documents have to be obtained.

Apart from the documents that have to be obtained from South African authorities, a COC (Certificate of Compliance) and three valuations of the vehicle have to be obtained in order to clear the car through customs in South Africa. The COC has to be obtained long before the vehicle is shipped and is needed to obtain the SABS LOA.
